Wanted: Stories about family fitness Comments

The February edition of our quarterly “To Your Health” publication will focus in part on fitness and families — and we’re looking for stories from mid-valley families.

We had huge success last year with an edition of “To Your Health” that featured stories from readers about how they stayed fit — and we thought it would be timely, especially with growing concern about child obesity, to expand the focus this time out to include families.

So I’m looking for stories from readers about how the fitness routines that have worked for their families: What have you done as a family that has helped you stay fit? What approaches have you tried that perhaps haven’t worked as well?

We’ll publish as many stories from families as we can fit into the publication and I’m sure we’ll be able to post all of them online. The deadline is Monday, Feb. 8. Please try to limit stories to 250 words or so.

Also, please include some contact information so that I can get in touch with you if I need to do that.

Stories can be e-mailed to this address: mike.mcinally@lee.net. Or just click here to send me an e-mail. If you prefer to use regular mail, try this address: To Your Health, care of Mike McInally, Corvallis Gazette-Times, 600 S.W. Jefferson Ave., Corvallis, OR 97333.

The February edition of “To Your Health” is scheduled to appear in the newspaper around the middle of the month.
